MW3 Gaming Eyewear From Gunnar – Gaming Glasses.. Really?

MW3 Gaming Eyewear From Gunnar – Gaming Glasses.. Really?

Yup, you heard right.. Gunnar Optiks have worked with Activision to produce specialized glasses for MW3.

The eyewear is made to protect your eyes whilst giving you a visual advantage over other players. They do this by increasing the contrast and enhancing details to provide you with a much clearer and sharper view, which we’re guessing will help you spot the enemy quicker? At the same time the tinted lenses will help reduce glare from your monitor so you can focus for longer without having to worry about getting dry eyes.

They haven’t been lazy on the design of these glasses either. You’ll get spring hinges built into a magnesium / aluminium body with adjustable nose pads to ensure flexibility and wide coverage lenses to provide you with maximum vision. They dont look too bad either with the whole frame decorated with a battle-scar finish and of course “Call of Duty MW3″ engraved onto the side.

The eyewear will cost $99 (pre-order here). On purchase you will also receive a Limited Edition MW3 branded carrying case and a Limited Edition MW3 branded pouch. See images below:

Do I Really Need Gaming Eyewear to Play MW3?

So.. do you really need a set of glasses to stay competitive? Well according to Gunnars Optiks they help with:

  • Higher contrast resulting in better visual accuracy and efficiency.
  • Increase detail to produce clearer and sharper visuals.
  • Assist with reducing glare from your monitor while helping to improve focus.
  • Improves visual endurance when for those gaming marathons.
  • Reduces eye fatigue thus less eye dryness.

If your going to take their word for it, then it seems pretty obvious, right?

Do we agree? To put it simply.. no.

For sure, we’re all guilty of gaming until 3am, at which time you have a banging headache and your eyes feel like they’re ready to fall out, which can be kind of irritating. However, we think it makes a bit more sense to just go for a 15 minute break and grab some food every now and then instead of forking out $99 for a pair of hyped up sunglasses that’ll have your mates laughing at you for the next 6 months.

How about you, would you consider purchasing a pair of these?

      • Tyquan that choppy half assed want to be paragraph makes me want to ram my fist up your mom’s baby cannon; so that i can rip out her ovaries so that an other half retarded abortion such as your self never happens again. The stupid just in your gammer alone is enough to make abe lincoln regret freeing your kind. So please do us all a favor, and either grab a rope and well hang your self or put down the games sell your shit and fucking read a book and or go yo school

        • Aren’t you cool for racist ass comments and talking shit on the internet. The guy just didn’t spell right and is expressing his thoughts on the glasses, Jesus……Now, to the topic at hand, I personally don’t think these are very necessary. The only reason I’d get this is for the dry eyes comment as I doubt it would help with gaming experience.

How in the world is it gonna increase detail you see, thats impossible!!!

  4. ArchangelXX55 says:

Hmmmm…..Gaming glasses…..No, don’t think so. I’ll pass. All digital TV’s have adjustments for contrast, light and dark, color saturation and some even have a focus adjustment.

Professional gamers can have sponsors and may use the glasses as part of their sponsorship agreements to help sell these glasses.

For people that already wear glasses, these are useless.

Pro’s may spend most of their day playing without a break, but, if a gamer plays that long, a 15-30 minute break should be taken every couple hours and will have more benefits by resting the eyes, hands and release tension which increases overall well being….and it costs nothing.

  7. DMulGamer says:

I have a pair of gunnar optics and have used them on and off especially when i have been on for a while… They seem to magnify the screen a little bit, as well as help with eye fatigue and i can see a player move from very far away and pick them off(not that i couldnt do that without the glasses either.) They are cool in certain aspects but not worth $99. I would rather spend my money on some nice headphones or something….

  8. Moon Saiyed says:

Buy a nice turtleback for 99$ it will help way more!

  9. i tried them on in best and played codmw3. it actually seemed as if the clarity of picture was better and the image seemed smoother. But $100 for some glasses just to play video games is a little steep. besides not everyone is a pro gamer. $40 bucks and they might of had a sale.
